Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for the Emergency Department in Albuquerque, NM, a Level I Trauma unit with 12-hour night shifts and a 36-hour workweek. Start date is 03/09/2026 for a 13-week assignment.

Requirements include NM or compact RN license, TNCC and multiple certifications (ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS, NIHSS). Travel benefits, housing stipends, and per diem are provided, with no on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• TNCC certification required before consideration
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS, NIHSS (NIHSS may be pending at start)
• COVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions considered with appropriate documentation

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department at an acute care teaching hospital
• Patient population includes high acuity trauma, adult, pediatric, and admit hold patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5
• Night shifts available with 12-hour schedule options (3x12 or 4x12)
• Floating to Adult Progressive Care Units is expected; optional floating to Pediatric ED
• May float to ED Holding and Trauma as needed
• Cerner EMR system is used
• Weekend shifts scheduled as needed, with weekend nights on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No on-call responsibilities
• Responsibilities include medication administration, IV medication management, and thorough clinical documentation
• Increased number of admit holds expected in the emergency department
• First-time travelers are accepted if they meet Level I trauma experience requirements
• Black scrubs required and not provided
• Free parking is available onsite
• RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
