Job summary

Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel ED Charge Nurse for shifts in Lewiston, Maine. This role oversees the Emergency Department, manages staffing and patient assignments, and ensures safe, high-quality care with regulatory compliance.

12-week assignment with a $41.44–$57.43 hourly range and a $1,491.84–$2,067.48 weekly pay, plus a $3/hour differential. Required are an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and at least one year in an acute care ED setting, with supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification in good standing on hire.
• ACLS certification in good standing on hire.
• PALS certification on hire and maintained.
• Minimum 1 year as a staff nurse in an acute care ED setting.
• Previous supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
• Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development.
• Assists with performance management and HR activities.
• Monitors supplies and equipment; coordinates patient flow.Transfers and discharges as needed.
• Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues promptly.
• Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience.
• Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License
2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
4. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
5. PALS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
6. Previous supervisory experience, required.
7. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.

Pay Transparency

Premiere Healthcare Staffing offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $41.44 to $57.43. This compensation estimate is specific to Maine and has not been adjusted for any other geographic location. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
