Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Echo Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Atlanta, GA. The role is a travel position with 40 hours per week on day shifts.

Immediate opening requires at least 1 year of echocardiography experience and appropriate certifications, with responsibility for image acquisition and patient care. You will operate echocardiography equipment, prepare patients, and ensure images are accurate for physician interpretation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience.
• BLS certification and ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS certification.
• State-specific licensing requirements where applicable.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; good physical stamina.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in performing echocardiographic studies.
• Perform quality Doppler and color Doppler exams consistently.
• Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images.
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms per physician expectations.
• Report findings to reading physician for interpretation.
• Maintain and clean equipment per department procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use PACS.

We are looking for an Echocardiogram Technologist (Echo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Atlanta, GA. The right Echo Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the cardiac ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Echo Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing echocardiograms.

Tasks

As an Echo Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
• Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams
• Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
• Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
• Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images
• Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
• Perform all related processing required for each completed study
• Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification and state-specific licensing when required.

Echo Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Echo Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

BLS, ARDMS, 2 Years * Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
