Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Montgomery, Alabama. The CVOR RN will provide specialized cardiovascular operating room care, circulating for cardiothoracic and complex surgeries, and coordinate with a team of physicians and nurses.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience and must hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Travel assignment details include 13 weeks, 40 hours/week, 10-hour day shifts, and a stress‑managed, patient‑focused

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor for breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, equipment and supplies.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens.
