Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a CVOR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Rockford, IL. The role offers 40 hours per week, days, and comprehensive benefits for travel professionals.

You will provide specialized cardiovascular operating room care, collaborate with the surgical team, and ensure patient safety from pre-op through post-op care within a dynamic travel setting.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification preferred.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries.
• Prepare the Cardiovascular operating room for the patient and surgical procedure.
• Assemble equipment, supplies, medications, and implants, ensuring equipment functions and supplies are available.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care.
• Utilize data from surgical preference cards for the procedure and surgeon.
• Position patients safely using approved devices to enable optimal surgical exposure.
• Adhere to Universal Protocol and timeout to confirm patient identity, procedure, and site.
• Handle and document specimens accurately for diagnostic integrity.
• Provide post-surgical care coordination, including handoff to the recovery team.
• Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care before, during, and after the procedure.
• Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery.
• Respond to emergencies during surgery and perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
