Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative care for CVOR patients.
• Assist with scrub duties for open heart procedures as needed.
• Rotate 12-hour day/evening shifts with 36 hours per week.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced OR setting.

Job SummaryOperating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse opportunity in en_US. This position involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular and open heart surgeries within a large, academic healthcare facility. The role requires flexibility in schedule and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: Replacement assignment for approximately 16-26 weeks, starting October 5, 2026. Shifts are rotating days/evenings with 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: RN licensed with a minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room experience, including high competency in cardiovascular or open heart procedures, and experience working in large, academic hospitals. CNOR certification preferred. BLS certified. Must have prior travel experience and be able to scrub hearts. Epic EMR experience from the past 2 years is required.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and evenings, with bi-weekly orientations every Monday. No block schedules. Must be flexible to meet patient care needs, including working holidays and weekends.
• Additional Information: Must have reliable transportation, personal or rental vehicle, equipped with all-season or snow tires during November-April. No float required; candidates may circulate to other OR suites but are not required to scrub. All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained. Complete work history information is mandatory for submission.
