Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. The selected nurse will join a fast-paced cardiovascular ICU environment, providing critical care for open-heart surgery and heart transplant patients.

Requirements include 1-2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and willingness to commit to a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. Travel compensation details are discussed during the offer stage.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIH certification may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital-wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.
