Position offers a 13-week minimum contract with potential extension, night shifts (12 hours) 19:00–07:30, two patients per nurse, EPIC charting required, and travel reimbursement with benefits.

Qualifications

• Current MO RN license (active or pending at consideration).
• BSN, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU/Cardiac ICU experience.
• Must be able to manage LVADs, ventilators and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Relias EKG exam must be passed prior to start.
• EPIC charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiac and critically ill patients in CVICU with 1:2 ratio.
• Manage ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters and drips.
• Support patients with LVAD/Impella devices and post-op care.
• Perform EPIC charting and adhere to hospital protocols.
• Night shifts: four 12-hour shifts weekly; no on-call.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of recent cardiac ICU experience and BSN, BLS, and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position located in a Cardiovascular ICU within a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching hospital
• Works with a ratio of 1:2 caring for cardiac and critically ill patients
• Handles acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post-cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, and arrhythmias
• Care includes ventilator management, arterial line and pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemaker, LVAD, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, dialysis, and vasoactive drips
• Uses EPIC for electronic charting; prior EPIC experience preferred
• Night shifts, four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:30) with every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating is required within the service line as needed
• Position is for a 13-week minimum contract with the option for 16 weeks
• Duties include complex cardiac and intensive care for critical patients using advanced life-support equipment
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Testing and orientation modules must be completed prior to first shift
• No more than two time-off requests, totaling no more than 40 hours, allowed during contract
• No time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a mandatory 3-month break
• Parking information and fees will be provided during orientation; night shift parking is free

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (can be pending at time of consideration)
• BSN degree, BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 2 years of recent cardiac/CVICU experience required
• Must be able to manage LVADs, Impella, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG exam prior to start
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
