Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety
Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure tohelp them feel comfortable.
Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
