Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Hanford, California. The CT Tech will work 36 hours weekly with 12-hour nights, handling CT imaging, patient prep, and contrast administration. 1 year of CT experience, ARRT CT certification with registration, BLS, and licensing as required are required for this role.

The CT Tech may be asked to operate within McKesson PACS, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with physicians for diagnostic interpretation.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CT experience required.
• Must have BLS and ARRT CT certification with registration; state licensing as required.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures; ensure comfort and safety.
• Time imaging procedures according to physicians' orders and requests.
• Position patients accurately for targeted scanning areas.
• Administer radiocontrast agents when indicated and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Review imaging requests, confirm patient ID, and maintain accurate records.
• Utilize McKesson PACS system to store and transfer images.
• Adhere to radiation safety procedures and maintain equipment quality.

We are looking for a Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Hanford, CA. The right CT Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a CT Tech, you will be responsible for the use of computed tomography equipment and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. CT Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing CT scanning.

Tasks

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Appropriately position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
• Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues
• Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
• Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (CT) National Certification with registration in computed tomography, and state-specific licensing when required.

CT Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop easily. CT Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
