Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Travel Consultant to support our corporate clients from a fully remote team. You’ll advise and arrange domestic and international travel for individuals and groups, using GDS systems and aligning with client policies and travel guidelines.

You’ll collaborate with teammates to share knowledge, provide exceptional service, and continually develop your skills through our extensive learning resources and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven passion for delivering exceptional client service.
• Native GDS experience or strong familiarity with Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and/or Amadeus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Respect for traveler information privacy and integrity.
• Solid understanding of the travel industry (business/leisure).
• Able to resolve issues quickly, either independently or with suppliers.
• Teamwork and openness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate customers (individuals and groups).
• Research and compare travel options, anticipating traveler needs and upselling services.
• Book domestic and international travel (air, rail, hotels) with varying complexity.
• Utilize GDS systems; training may be provided.
• Ensure compliance with client policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide proactive service and handle special traveler requests.
• Collaborate with teammates to coach and improve service levels.

As a Travel Consultant, you’ll join our highly skilled remote team, providing outstanding service to our corporate business clients. What You’ll Do

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)

• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations

• Use various Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), including Sabre, Apollo, Galileo and Amadeus. Training may be provided

• Ensure compliance to customers’ agreed travel policy, service provider policies, and regulatory requirements

• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests

• Collaborate within your team to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to improve service levels

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs

• Native GDS expertise (Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus and/or Galileo)

• Professional communication (written and verbal)

• Act with integrity, and look after personal traveler information

• Possess a strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel, or airline reservation)

• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier

• Teamwork and openness to feedback
