Job summary

Adventist Health Clear Lake seeks an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a 13-week travel assignment at a 25-bed hospital in Clearlake, CA. The CLS will perform laboratory testing, evaluate QC, maintain instrumentation, and ensure timely reporting of results.

Requirements include a California CLS license, a minimum of 2 years in all lab areas, and EPIC experience. WellSky is preferred; expect both Cerner and EPIC environments and independent work with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in all aspects of the clinical laboratory.
• EPIC experience – REQUIRED
• California CLS license – REQUIRED
• Bachelor's or BA/BS degree in Medical Technology or related sciences – REQUIRED
• Ability to handle STAT and critical results appropriately
• Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures.
• Review QC, specimen integrity and instrumentation.
• Process STAT orders and report results within required timeframes.
• Communicate critical values to providers.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
• Perform venous and arterial specimen collection when required.
• Maintain reagents, calibrators, controls and laboratory supplies.
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and coordinate technical support when needed.
• Support regulatory and accreditation readiness.
• Supervise Laboratory Assistants as needed.
