Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a travel assignment in Roanoke, Virginia. The role features 4x10 hour days, dayshift, with on-call duties in a busy Level I trauma teaching hospital.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team providing cath lab care for adults with CAD and related conditions. Candidates must hold an active VA or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and have 2+ years cath lab experience with Epic charting.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license (in hand or pending, with emergency authorization available while permanent license processes)
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CCI RCIS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required, 3+ years preferred
• 1:1 patient ratio experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
• Scrub experience required
• Proficient in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition/interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
• Skilled in ACT monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, radiation and laser safety, and sheath removal/monitoring
• Experience administering emergency medications, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors

Responsibilities

• Work within a multidisciplinary team supporting adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
• Provide cath lab care for adult patients with CAD, valve disorders, heart failure, and closures
• Perform advanced procedures and utilize cath lab equipment
• Maintain Epic charting and on-call commitments as required
• Support a Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
