Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a Cedar Rapids, IA assignment. Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, days shift. Travel employment with immediate start.

As a Cath Lab RN, you’ll support physicians during angioplasty, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology in a cardiovascular surgical setting. You’ll monitor EKGs, assist with devices, and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Learn complex technologies effectively.
• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization to diagnose or treat heart conditions.
• Assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties and stent placements.
• Help implant pacemakers and ICDs.
• Stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
• Demonstrate stress coping skills and relate to patients of all ages.

We’re looking for Cardiac Cath Lab RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Cedar Rapids, IA. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.

As a Cath Lab RN, you’ll work with a highly skilled team of medical professionals in a cardiovascular surgical environment providing assistance to the physician including maintenance and monitoring of EKG equipment, and assisting during angioplasty, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology.

As a Cath Lab Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Learn complex technologies effectively.
• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization as a way to diagnose heart conditions or as a treatment.
• Assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties and stent placements.
• Help implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift 20 pounds easily. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good skills for coping with stress and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements:

• ACLS, BLS, 2 Years*
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
