Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Dayton, Ohio. The RN will prepare patients for cardiac catheterization, assist during interventions, and monitor recovery, working closely with cardiologists and the cath lab team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Essential duties include patient assessments, device placement, hemodynamic monitoring, PACU turnover, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • One year of recent Cath Lab RN experience
  • Valid RN license per state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Preferred: PALS or ENPC certifications
  • Preferred: RCIS certification

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients pre-procedure: review history and perform exams
  • Position patients and place EKG leads for procedures
  • Assist during interventions, including catheter/wire placement
  • Operate hemodynamic equipment and monitor cardiac rhythms
  • Assist with arterial/venous sheath removal and post-procedure transport
  • Monitor vital signs and hemodynamics during procedures
  • Support postoperative recovery and seamless care transitions
  • Maintain cath lab equipment and stock for procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team, patients, and physicians
  • Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Perform additional duties within scope of practice

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Dayton, Ohio. Required Qualifications:
  • One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PALS or ENPC Certifications
  • RCIS certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary:

The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediate post-procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
  • Assist in positioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
  • Assist physicians during procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
  • Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
  • Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area
  • Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
  • Support post-procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
