Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Danville, Pennsylvania. You will provide specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments, working closely with cardiologists and the cath lab team. Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS or ENPC Certifications
- RCIS certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required
Summary
The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. The role requires advanced cardiac care skills, effective communication, rapid adaptability, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions
- Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including review of medical history and physical exams
- Assist in positioning patients and placing EKG electrodes and cardiac leads
- Assist physicians during procedures, including placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other interventions
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
- Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to recovery
- Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during procedures
- Support post‑procedure care, ensuring smooth transition to next phase of care
- Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring functionality and adequate supply
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills

- Reading, writing, and oral communication in English
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical endurance: can remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend

- Technical and motor skills: fine manipulation and assistance with procedures
- Mental resilience: coping with frequent public contact, meeting deadlines, working under supervision or independently, handling irregular schedules, maintaining concentration to detail
