Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Travel Cath Lab RN for a 13-week assignment in Bossier City, Louisiana. The RN will perform specialized care for cardiac catheterization procedures, prep patients, assist during interventions, and monitor recovery with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Required qualifications include 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience, current Louisiana RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Cath Lab RN experience required.
• Current RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients prior to procedures, review medical history and perform exams.
• Position patients and place EKG leads correctly for procedures.
• Assist physicians during procedures, including catheter and device placement.
• Operate hemodynamic equipment and monitor cardiac rhythms and waveforms.
• Support post-procedure recovery and patient handoff to the next care phase.
• Maintain cath lab equipment and ensure full stock for procedures.
• Communicate clearly with team, patients and physicians for seamless care.

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Bossier City, Louisiana. Required Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
• Current ACLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS or ENPC Certifications
• RCIS certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary

The Travel Cath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediate post-procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Work Functions

• Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
• Assist in positioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
• Assist physicians during procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
• Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
• Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area
• Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
• Support post-procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care
• Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend

Interpersonal Skills

• Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism

Technical/Motor Skills

• Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment

Mental Requirements

• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
• Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

Sensory

• Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
