Job summary

Medix is partnering with a premier hospital facility in Perth Amboy, NJ to hire an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist for a travel contract opportunity. The role emphasizes independent work in a busy hospital environment, supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of Cath Lab experience, RT and ACLS certifications, and comfort with GE/Toshiba Cath Lab equipment. STEMI call rotation and 13–26 week contract options are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
• Active Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification required.
• Active ACLS certification required.
• Strong experience with Cath Lab imaging equipment.
• Experience operating manifold and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Participation in STEMI call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Handle wires, catheters, balloons, stents, and advanced procedural devices.
• Prepare patients, procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for cases.
• Support left and right heart catheterizations.
• Assist with procedures utilizing IVUS, FFR/iFR, Shockwave, Penumbra, and Impella.
• Assist with pacemaker procedures, leadless devices, and loop recorders.
• Operate and monitor manifold and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Perform daily quality control and ensure Cath Lab equipment is fully operational.
• Work with GE and Toshiba Cath Lab equipment.
• Accurately document patient care and procedural information within Epic.
• Participate in STEMI call rotation and urgent weekend coverage.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other members of the clinical team.
• Assist with onboarding and supporting permanent staff when needed.

Schedule: 4x10s | Approximately 7:00 AM–5:30 PM

Weekly Gross: Up to $3,700/week for qualified travelers

Travel Stipend: Up to $1,575/week for qualified travelers

Local Rates: Available

Position Overview

Medix is partnering with a premier hospital facility in Perth Amboy, NJ to hire an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist for a travel contract opportunity.

This position is ideal for an experienced Cath Lab Tech who can step into a busy hospital environment, work independently with minimal onboarding, and confidently support both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.

Candidates may choose a 13-week contract with the potential to extend up to 26 weeks, with a 26-week contract option also available.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Cardiac Cath Lab experience

• Active ACLS certification
• Strong experience with Cath Lab imaging equipment
• Experience operating manifold and hemodynamic monitoring systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding
• Comfortable working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand hospital environment
• Ability to participate in the required STEMI call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification preferred
• Previous Epic EHR experience preferred

Schedule & Call

• 4x10-hour shifts
• Approximately 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Monday–Friday scheduling with flexibility
• STEMI call rotation of approximately 14 days per month
• Call rotation includes approximately 2 weekends per month

Compensation

Qualified travelers may be eligible for a compensation package of approximately:

• $3,700 weekly gross
• $1,575 weekly travel stipend
• Local W2 rates are also available

Travel stipend eligibility is dependent upon applicable tax-home and distance requirements.
