MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health for a travel assignment in Aurora, Colorado. The Psychiatric RN will provide care for patients with mental health issues, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and administer psychotropic medications while supporting patients and families in managing behaviors and implementing healthier lifestyles.

This 13-week travel assignment requires 36 hours per week, with night shifts, and includes a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required.
• 18 months of recent experience in an acute care psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care.
• Administer and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications.
• Assist patients and families to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and plan healthy lifestyle changes.
• Exercise balanced judgment in evaluation situations and decisions in challenging scenarios.

Duties Responsibilities

Psychiatric Nurses (RN) provide care for patients with mental health issues. They are experts in assessing, diagnosing and treating people with psychiatric problems. Mental health nurses work as part of a team to provide total medical care for the patient
