Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations and prepare VA-required documentation. The role involves reviewing medical records, assessing cognitive and neurological residuals, and completing DBQs with thorough reports.

No prescribing or long-term follow-up care is required. The position supports flexible scheduling (Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN) and emphasizes compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or PM&R.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Education

MD/DO degree

Board Certified in Neurology

Board Certified in Psychiatry

Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Active medical license in state

Excellent clinical assessment

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
