Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) is seeking a Trauma Therapist to provide trauma-informed individual therapy and facilitate support groups for victims of domestic violence. The role supports clinical needs, case management, and overall wellness initiatives within the organization.

The candidate will hold a Master’s degree, PA licensure, and have at least one year post-licensure experience, with strong direct service background in human services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and PA licensure required.
• 1 year post-licensure experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• 2 years of direct service experience in a human service agency required; 3+ preferred.
• Knowledge of EMDR, brain spotting, and CPTSD a plus.
• Knowledge of PA mental health and drug & alcohol systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed individual therapy to victims with mental health needs.
• Develop and facilitate trauma-informed DV support groups for residents and non-residents.
• Collaborate with staff to locate additional mental health resources.
• Participate in Residential Case Management meetings.
• Meet deadlines for Referral Tracker, All Hands Training, and staff training.

Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) is a comprehensive domestic violence program serving individuals impacted by domestic violence and facilitating an intervention and education program to people who use abuse. About the role.

As a Trauma Therapist, you will provide trauma-informed individual therapy and facilitate support groups for victims of domestic violence crimes. You will also provide insight into the WC&S Wellness team on clinical needs, case management, and overall support.

This role provides you with the opportunity to showcase your therapeutic, crisis intervention, facilitation, and interpersonal communications skills, and the ability to contribute to the organization’s mission in a variety of ways. The successful candidate will have a master’s degree, clinical licensure in the Commonwealth of PA, at least one year of post-licensure clinical experience, and at least two years of direct service experience in a human service agency. Here’s what you will do:

• Assess and offer trauma-informed individual therapy to victims with trauma-related mental health concerns or needs
• Develop and facilitate trauma-informed domestic violence support groups, onsite to shelter residents and virtually to non-shelter clients during the evening
• Collaborate with WC&S staff to help find additional mental health resources for clients as needed
• Participate in Residential Case Management meetings to provide SELF case management
• Meet deadlines surrounding individual and team-related tasks, including Referral Tracker, All Hands Training, Shelter staff training, etc.
• Assist Clinical Director and other Wellness Team members with crisis within community as needed
• Collaborate with Training & Mentoring Manager on trauma-informed trainings for All Staff; is the go-to staff person for psycho-educational resources/presentations/speaking engagements
• Maintain strict confidentiality of clients, residents, and location; follow safety protocols
• This position requires being available Monday through Friday business hours, with evenings and weekends based on client and program need
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Here’s what we are looking for:

• Master’s degree and clinical social work/counseling licensure (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania) required
• At least one (1) year of post-clinical licensure required; three (3) or more years strongly preferred
• Two (2) years of direct service experience in human service agency required; three (3) years preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with EMDR, brain spotting, and C-PTSD a plus
• Knowledge of mental health and drug & alcohol systems in Pennsylvania
• Ability to work with multiple systems and professionals
• Ability to work with both professional and non-professional staff
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• A demonstration of the understanding of abusive family dynamics, including intimate partner violence, cycle of abuse, power and control dynamics, culturally specific issues, and child abuse and neglect
• Ability to establish healthy boundaries, trust, respect, and rapport with others
• Ability to understand and adhere to strict confidentiality and safety procedures
• Strong command of general technology, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity and understanding of information technology, including Salesforce and Teams strongly preferred
• Desire to work in an organization committed to accepting every individual’s history and perspectives
• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required

$61,000
