Job summary

Reading Hospital, a Tower Health flagship hospital in West Reading, PA, seeks Trauma Surgeons to join a Level 1 trauma program renowned for care in trauma, neurosurgery, stroke, and cardiac surgery. You will provide coverage for trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery, while collaborating with advanced practice providers and residents.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO with AC GMP E General Surgery residency, Surgical Critical Care fellowship, Pennsylvania license, ATLS, and board

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and state medical license in PA.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care.
• Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
• Current ATLS certification (Instructor preferred).
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive trauma, critical care, and acute care general surgery for patients.
• Cover 24/7 trauma and acute care surgery services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care per Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation standards.
• Participate in trauma performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Educate and train General Surgery residents and medical students.
• Maintain a small elective surgical practice.
