Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Texas medical licensure must be obtained before hire or transfer date.

Responsibilities

  • Teach General Surgery residents.
  • Educate medical students.
  • Mentor physician assistant and nurse practitioner students.
  • Contribute to research and publications.
  • Deliver national presentations.
  • Advance quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Pursue academic leadership opportunities.
  • Acute Care Surgery call, including trauma, emergency general surgery, and initial resuscitation of burn patients.
  • Surgical ICU attending weeks covering patients from all surgical specialties.

Call Responsibilities

Faculty rotate through:

  • Acute Care Surgery call, including trauma, emergency general surgery, and initial resuscitation of burn patients

Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency
