ThedaCare is seeking a Trauma Social Worker to provide as-needed crisis response and psychosocial support for trauma patients and families across ThedaCare Regional Medical Centers in Appleton and Neenah. The role requires timely on-call coverage and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to meet diverse patient needs.
Responsibilities include on-site crisis response, EMR documentation, and developing support plans while coordinating with community resources and family members.

About ThedaCare! Summary : The Trauma Social Worker provides as-needed crisis response and support to patients and families for trauma patients at ThedaCare Regional Medical Centers in Appleton and Neenah, as well as Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Fox Valley. Performs psycho-social assessment and develops a support plan that includes sensitivity to the cultural and special needs of each situation. Collaborates with interdisciplinary and community resources to meet the assessed needs.
Schedule: 80-100 Hours per Month of On-Call After Hours between 4:00pm - 7:30am On Call 24hr coverage Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Frequent transition from standing, sitting with movement throughout the facility Possible exposure to sharp objects and instruments Possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids and pharmacological agents; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary Occasional high noise level in work environment Possible contact with aggressive and or combative patients Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.
