Job summary

CHI is seeking a Trauma Registrar to accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry, ensuring a reliable database for program evaluation.

You will apply AIS and ICD-10 coding, maintain database integrity, collaborate with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, and ensure timely submission of trauma information while upholding compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with data management/entry/abstract of trauma data.
  • CPR certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

  • Completes administrative duties to ensure timely submission of trauma information.
  • Evaluates injury trends and collaborates with teams for prevention initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with state and national registry submission requirements.
  • Assigns and scores injuries using AIS and ICD scoring.
  • Participates in Trauma Quality Improvement activities and keeps skills updated.
  • Prepares data and trends for presentations at meetings by the Manager of Trauma Services.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Trauma Registrar, you will accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry. Your meticulous work ensures a consistent and reliable trauma database, vital for program evaluation.

Every day you will abstract data from complex patient records, applying AIS and ICD-10 injury coding for accurate entry. You'll work closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, ensuring database integrity and quality.

To be successful, you will be self-motivated, with meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Strong proficiency in AIS and ICD-10 coding, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to data quality are essential.

  • Completes administrative duties as assigned to ensure timely and complete submission of trauma information 2. Maintains records and files to ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluates current trends in injury mechanism and collaborates with administrative teams regarding needs for prevention initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and requirements for submission to state and national registry, as required 5. Collects, enters and submits data in required format for Level III Trauma Designation as required. Reviews, corrects and validates trauma registry reports prior to submission.
  • Assigns and scores all injuries utilizing the AIS and ICD scoring system. Completes and verifies for accuracy of all data collected.
  • Participates as an integral member of the Trauma Quality Improvement team. Involved in professional development to assure skills and knowledge of trauma information.
  • Prepares data and trends for presentation at national, state, and local meetings by Manager of Trauma Services 9. Educates nursing staff with regards to required trauma documentation and requirements to maintain the policies and procedures laid out in the Trauma Center Plan, in coordination with Manager of Trauma Services The job summary and responsibilities listed above are designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed within this job.

  • High School Graduate General Studies and Previous experience with data management/entry/abstract, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies and Previous experience with data management/entry/abstract, upon hire
