Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Suffolk, NY seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Trauma service. Flexible day/evening/night shifts; full-time position with rotating schedule in ED, OR, and trauma team, under supervision of a physician. The PA provides care for in- and outpatients, performs assessments, orders tests, and develops treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by ARC-PA.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Introduces self as a physician assistant and conducts initial assessment.
• Orders and interprets labs, radiographs, EKGs as needed.
• Documents care and formulates diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Collaborates with physicians and trauma team for patient management.
• Provides emergency care including trauma assessments and Code 64 where applicable.
• Ensures timely documentation and patient education in the chart.
