The Adult Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse at University of Kentucky is a BSN-educated RN responsible for leading trauma/critical care quality initiatives and data reporting. The role requires clinical expertise, self-direction, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop reports, use word processing, databases and statistical software, and participate in TOPIC training; shift is mostly days, with occasional after-hours per departmental needs.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Will require lifting, pulling, pushing of objects up to 50lbs, sitting and or standing for long periods of time.

Shift

Mostly Days, 8am-430pm Monday – Friday. May need to work outside of dayshift hours for departmental needs. On-call duties per departmental guidelines

Job Summary

| The Adult Trauma Performance Improvement Nurse is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Candidate must show evidence of clinical expertise in the practice of trauma/critical care; must be self-directed, present information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form; have a demonstrated ability to work positively in collaboration with all healthcare disciplines and departments; and possess strong computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, database management, spreadsheet development, report writing, and statistical and graphical software.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Trauma nursing experience ( ICU , ED, Flight) required and experience in quality improvement and research preferred. Evidence of clinical expertise in the practice of trauma/critical care. Must be self-directed, present information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form. Demonstrated ability to work positively in collaboration with all healthcare disciplines and departments. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, database management, spreadsheet development, report writing, statistical and graphical software.

Preferred Education/Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Master of Science in Nursing or other healthcare related Master’s degree preferred. Certification in specialty preferred ( TNCC ). Must hold and maintain a Kentucky Nursing License as a Registered Nurse and be in good standing with the Board of Nursing. Must attend a Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course ( TOPIC ) within 2 years of hire.
