Job summary

Pace Center for Girls is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for middle and high school students in Lecanto, FL. The role focuses on delivering standards-based science instruction to support academic achievement for girls in grades 6–12, within a trauma-informed, strength-based framework.

The teacher will develop engaging lessons, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff to provide wraparound educational and social services that help girls succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Active FLDOE teaching certificate (Statement of Eligibility, Temporary or Professional).
• Knowledge of science for grades 6–12.

Responsibilities

• Design standards-based lesson plans aligned to state standards and across multiple grade levels.
• Use assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction for girls’ needs.
• Differentiate instruction to create an engaging learning environment.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom that is girl-centered and trauma-informed.
• Apply effective classroom management to foster positive learning and adherence to center policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet state and local requirements.
