Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown seeks a school-based mental health counselor to provide individual, group, and family therapy to students in school settings, with emphasis on trauma-informed care.

You will maintain treatment plans, coordinate with the medical team, and facilitate referrals within the network. A master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or education and 3 years of child/adolescent counseling are required.

LPC or LCSW licensure upon hire; bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in psychology, counseling, social work or education.
• 3 years experience with counseling child and adolescent populations.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual, group, and family therapy to students in the school setting with emphasis on trauma-related issues.
• Maintains patient care plan and refers patients out when necessary.
• Evaluates and develops a quality plan of intervention with measurable problems, goals, objectives, and timelines.
• Documents on the same day of clinical contact and ties progress notes to the treatment plan.
• Initiates and facilitates referrals for patients' mental health services within the network.
• Maintains caseload every week and open scheduling for same-day encounters.
• Assesses, educates, and intervenes regarding financial or billing issues and documents all insurance contacts/authorizations.
