Job summary

Missouri Department of Mental Health’s St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center North Campus seeks a full-time Recreation/Music Therapist to join an interdisciplinary team in inpatient psychiatric care. The role focuses on recovery-based, trauma-informed services for clients court-ordered to DMH.

Strong compassion and collaborative spirit are essential. Primary duties include assessing client skills, facilitating groups, case management, and active participation in team meetings.

Qualifications

• College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field.
• CTRS or MT-BC preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess basic skill functioning related to Rehabilitation Services.
• Plan and implement treatment groups addressing social, vocational, emotional, cognitive and physical needs.
• Case management including treatment plans, documentation, goal setting, family contact, and client advocacy.
• Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and program/department meetings.
• Ensure competency in psychosocial program principles and departmental documentation.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field
