Job summary

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Prevention & Wellness Specialist I or II to plan, implement, and evaluate prevention services for children, youth, parents and community members. The role emphasizes engaging presentations and collaboration with community partners to reduce substance use and promote mental health wellness.

Responsibilities include developing and delivering trainings, forming partnerships, and using evidence-based programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required (Level 1).
• Education: Master's degree or equivalent experience (Level 2).
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' experience required.
• Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
• Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving agency vehicles. No more than two moving violations in 3 years; no criminal violations in 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, document and evaluate substance abuse and/or mental health promotion services for diverse populations.
• Provide training and education through presentations, meetings, and small groups to promote prevention concepts.
• Develop collaborative relationships with community partners to enhance prevention services.
• Work with trauma-informed care principles to support wellness, resilience and recovery.
