Job summary

Directions for Youth and Families is seeking a part-time Prevention Specialist for our Afterschool and Summer Program in Columbus, OH. You will implement social-emotional learning activities and supervise youth engagement in a supportive, trauma-informed setting.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor degree, experience with youth, and strong communication. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 3pm–8pm, with summer hours 9am–3pm; driver’s license and transportation required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth and facilitating educational lessons required.
• Strong engagement and communication skills.
• Basic computer & documentation skills.
• Valid Driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee structured social-emotional learning activities within the program.
• Facilitate groups for youth ages 8-18, encouraging learning in a fun, engaging way.
• Lead life skills, healthy expression, self-regulation activities and service-learning projects.
• Support scheduling and coordinate with team meetings and events.
