Job summary

Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch is seeking a Family Unification Specialist in Missoula, MT. The role involves delivering Child Welfare Prevention and Support Services to families in crisis, both in and out of the home, with a focus on reunification and safety.

You will collaborate with supervisors, engage in coaching and education, document work per COA and YBGR policies, and represent the agency with DPHHS and court partners. A strong, compassionate, trauma‑informed approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in human services or mental health from an accredited university.
• Minimum of two years of experience with youth, families, or child protective services.
• Must pass Montana criminal record and child abuse registry background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide identified Child Welfare Prevention and Support Services to families as assigned by the supervisor.
• Support families through coaching, training, and monitoring for safety during reunification (including supervised visitation).
• Complete training to enhance services offered through the CWPSS program (e.g., Visit Coaching).
• Complete, update, and maintain documentation per COA, Montana ARM’s, Contracts, and YBGR policies.
• Be a professional representative of YBGR to DPHHS partners and court representatives.
• Contribute to PQI goals and overall agency outcomes; participate in supervision meetings.
• Adhere to policies, safety rules, and procedures; identify problems and propose solutions.
• Participate in required training and emergency on-call rotation as assigned.
