Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) Oregon Eligibility Partnership (OEP) Albany team is seeking a qualified Eligibility Worker to interview applicants and determine benefits eligibility with a trauma‑informed, person‑centered approach. You will assess needs for SNAP, LTC, TANF, ERDC and Medicaid programs using the ONE eligibility system.

This permanent, full‑time role requires accurate determinations, timely communications, and collaboration with clients and partners to improve equity

Qualifications

• Experience interview­ing applicants to determine program eligibility.
• Ability to apply complex rules and policies to eligibility determinations.
• Trauma‑informed, person‑centered service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants in-person and by phone to gather information for benefits (SNAP, LTC, TANF, ERDC, Medicaid).
• Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and reviews.
• Assist customers in-person and by phone who are applying for or receiving benefits.
• Communicate eligibility decisions to applicants.
• Provide trauma‑informed, person‑centered services to identify needs.
• Contribute to a welcoming, respectful work environment.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and cultural awareness.
