Job summary

CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center seeks a Behavioral Support Specialist to deliver direct behavioral support and supportive services to patients with mental illness or substance use challenges. The role focuses on managing the therapeutic milieu and developing skills across environmental, social, and emotional wellbeing.

You will collaborate with a clinical team to implement tailored care plans, adhering to ethical principles aligned with the facility's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required upon hire or Mental Health Tech certificate from accredited bodies.
• BLS-CPR certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Encourages an environment where patients can solve problems and try new behaviors in a trauma-informed care setting.
• Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment.
• Maintains a secure environment and acts as a resource for emergency situations.
• Provides trauma-informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion room.
• Effectively communicates in a multicultural context using verbal and written techniques.
• Participates in staff meetings and QA activities, safety programs, and training to maintain team communication.
