Job summary

The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is seeking a Counselor to join the Child Protection Team on the Jacksonville Campus. The role provides direct therapy to child victims and families, conducts assessments, coordinates referrals, and supports advocacy and case management to ensure comprehensive care.

Travel across Baker, Clay, Duval, and Nassau counties is required. A master's degree in social work or counseling is needed, with trauma-focused care and crisis intervention

Qualifications

• Requires professional licensure to provide clinical counseling in Florida.
• Experience in child abuse treatment and court testimony preferred.
• Travel to Jacksonville area counties required.
• Background check is required.
• Experience coordinating services and referrals with community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy to child victims, siblings, and non-offending caregivers.
• Perform crisis intervention and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate intakes, evaluations, and interviews for clinical assessments.
• Attend case staffing and provide court testimony as needed.
• Maintain client records and liaise with community agencies.
