Albany Med Health System seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) team. The PA will support ED trauma and surgical patients, collaborating with surgeons, residents, and the ACS&CC care team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualified candidates hold a Master's in PA studies, NYS licensure, NCCPA, and BLS/ACLS. 1–2 years of surgical/inpatient experience preferred; mid-shift and weekend options available, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required from an accredited PA program and current NYS licensure with NCCPA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; ATLS certification preferred.
• 1-2 years of surgical or inpatient care experience preferred; strong clinical judgment essential.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Room as a provider.
• Provide back up for inpatient medical-surgical ACS APPs.
• Perform ED consultations with full patient assessments.
• Perform ED procedures and wound care as required.
• Coordinate patient discharges and ensure follow-up care.
• Respond to Level 3 traumas and trauma consultations.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and communicate with the team.
• Support education, research and quality initiatives.
