Albany Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) team in the Emergency Department. You will provide clinical support during peak hours, collaborate with surgeons, residents, and ACS&CC staff, and deliver high-quality surgical care.

The role requires NYS PA licensure, NCCPA certification, BLS and ACLS, with 1–2 years of surgical or inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NYS licensure and NCCPA certification is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Willing to audit or ATLS certification is preferred.
• 1–2 years of surgical or inpatient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Room as a provider.
• Provide back up for inpatient medical-surgical ACS APP providers.
• Perform ED consultations with comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Perform ED procedures and wound care as required.
• Coordinate patient discharges and arrange follow-up care.
• Respond to Level 3 traumas and provide trauma consultations.
• Document encounters and procedures in the EMR.
