Colleton River Club in Bluffton, SC is seeking a dependable Trash and Recycling Technician to join our team. This hands-on role operates Ecology and other service trucks to collect trash and recyclables from member yards.

You will maintain clean vehicles, monitor basic equipment, and support other departments; a positive attitude and teamwork are essential. Benefits include health, dental, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license in good standing (CDL Certification not required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Sanitation or similar service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and learn tasks associated with ecology services.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ecology truck (Mack M07 11CY) or stake body truck (Chevy 2500) safely and efficiently.
• Collection of household trash and recycling from member's service yards.
• Operate compactor and cardboard baler.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in vehicles and on the club recycling pad.
• Monitor basic equipment maintenance and report issues to Supervisors or Mechanics.
• Assist other departments (such as Community Grounds) once Ecology responsibilities are completed, within the normal work schedule.
• Follow all safety procedures and department protocols.

Trash and Recycling Technician - Colleton River Club

Colleton River Club is seeking a dependable and motivated Trash and Recycling Technician to join our Trash and Recycling team. This role plays a key part in keeping our community clean, organized, and running smoothly. The Trash and Recycling Technician will serve as a primary vehicle operator, take ownership of daily trash collection routes, and assume additional responsibility within the department.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable operating vehicles and light equipment. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Ecology truck (Mack M07 11CY) or stake body truck (Chevy 2500) safely and efficiently
• Collection of household trash and recycling from member's service yards

Typical Schedule (Full-Time)

• Monday: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Tuesday: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Wednesday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Thursday: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Friday: 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM
• Saturday: Occasional, as needed due to weather or holiday disruptions

Department Services

• Trash service (Monday & Thursday)
• Recycling service (Tuesday & Wednesday)
• Landscape debris pickup (Wednesday)
• Dump Ecology Service truck at landfill (Wednesday & Friday)
• Fulfill special requests for additional environmental services from Members
• Cardboard baler (Nicklaus Maintenance and Nicklaus Clubhouse)
