Job summary

HonorHealth seeks a PRN Transporter for day shifts across Phoenix facilities. You will move patients and materials safely, using wheelchairs or stretchers, while following safety protocols and ensuring accurate handoffs to clinical staff.

Experience in healthcare and customer service is preferred, and BLS certification is required upon hire. You will operate EMR systems for transport documentation and maintain equipment readiness, contributing to compassionate patient care and efficient

Qualifications

  • 6 months healthcare and customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; relevant training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients and materials using wheelchair, stretcher, bed or chair.
  • Follow safety protocols and proper body mechanics at all times.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and handoff with clinical staff.
  • Use Electronic Medical Record systems for patient transport records.

Each transporter is responsible for their individual average transport time within the guidelines of network leadership and campus needs. Maintains transport equipment and supplies. Complies with regulations, safety and patient care protocols. Ensures that all customer service standards and quality standards are met for communication with patients, staff and public. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed or chair and non-patient moves to and from designated areas or departments. Complies with all safety protocols when transporting patients and materials. Uses proper body mechanics. Ensures patient safety when transferring a patient to and from multiple surfaces and/or devices. Operates company issued mobile devices. May include dispatch role.* Maintains accurate documentation and completes accurate handoff with clinical staff. Communicates appropriately with patient and other members of care team. Introduces him or herself, verifies patient identity and informs the patient of their destination. Must follow HonorHealth Standards of Conduct and demonstrate ICARE values at all times.* Complies with established PPE guidelines and proper handling of patient.* Maintains wheelchairs and stretchers appropriately. Sanitizes equipment following established protocols. Immediately reports any equipment malfunctions and removes the items from service.* Utilizes Electronic Medical Record system(s) consistently for safe and efficient transport of patients.EDUCATION* Other / Certificate high school Coursework **Required*** High School Diploma or GED **Preferred** EXPERIENCE* 6 months, work experience in healthcare and customer service **Preferred** LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS* Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification, Basic Life Support BLS training Upon Hire **Required**
