Peace River Center is seeking a Transporter to ensure the safe transport of clients and staff within Bartow, FL. In this role, you will perform vehicle inspections, maintain compliance with safety protocols, and complete necessary paperwork while adhering to PRC's Core Values.
The position requires a valid Class C-CDL license, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Ideal candidates should have previous experience in human services and a commitment to respectful interaction with all clients.
The Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of clients and staff members to and from designated locations, including transport after discharge, field trips and appointments. This position requires vehicle inspections, completion of required paperwork, and adherence to safety protocols. The Transporter must maintain a valid Class C-CDL license with the appropriate passenger endorsement and comply with all applicable policies and regulations.
In the performance of their respective task and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience working with the public, preferably in human services.
Experience in transporting individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and/or

Complete all PRC-required pieces of training.
Complete all contact hours required for certification renewal (if applicable).
Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class C-CDL license with a passenger endorsement and a safe driving record.
Must be at least 25 years of age.
Must meet the minimum qualifications to be insured by the Agency's auto insurance carrier. Must submit to periodic random drug screenings.
Compliance with all relevant regulations outlined in ADM-AP-020.
Completion of 8 hours of professional development training annually, including all required PRC training.

The work environment is fast‑paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings, etc., to another PRC location.
PRN employees are required to remain active by working a minimum of two (2) shifts per month.
Failure to meet this requirement for two (2) consecutive months may result in removal from the active PRC roster and termination of PRN status.
Continued employment as a PRN team member is contingent upon meeting this scheduling requirement.
