Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Patient Transporter for the Downtown Orlando area. This role involves safely moving patients, delivering equipment, and providing proactive support to multiple departments within ORMC.

The transporter will operate on a fast-paced team focused on reliability, compassion, and smooth operations, with varied shifts and on-site work. Experience in patient care or customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and respond to basic inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Must be able to access and use department computer systems (TeleTracking, Allscripts, bed tracking).
  • Must complete mandatory educational training.

Responsibilities

  • Move patients safely and efficiently between departments.
  • Deliver equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provide timely support to clinical staff and patients.

Qualifications
  • Education/Training
  • Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related computer systems such as but not limited to the TeleTracking, Allscripts and all other programs that include Bed Tracking and Service Response where applicable.
  • Must be able to complete required mandatory educational training.
Licensure/Certification

If required for area, must complete and be certified in:

  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association – renewed every two years.
  • National Child Passenger Safety Certification (CPS) by Safe Kids USA – renewed every two years (Palmers Hospital only).
Experience

One (1) year in patient care or customer service role to include at least three (3) months of patient transport or medical equipment distribution experience
