  • Escort patients at discharge to personal transportation and ensure safe handoffs.
  • Follow department protocols for patient check‑in and identity verification, and observe precautions.
  • Alert caregivers to signs of distress or equipment issues promptly.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a customer‑sensitive and seamless experience.

Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and observe the patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment.

To be successful, you must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service. You must be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.

  • Assist with cleaning of equipment and maintenance of the department; may exchange oxygen tanks and/or attach IVs to wheelchairs or gurneys as necessary.
  • Escort patient at the time of discharge from their room to personal transportation.
  • Maintain a safe work and patient environment, adhering to the hospital’s safety, risk management, regulatory standards, and infection prevention.
  • Provide client and patient relations.
  • Follow hospital department protocols for checking in patients and verifying their identity, following specific precautions identified.
  • Alert caregivers immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
Job Requirements
Required
  • One year of recent work‑related experience.
  • Basic Life Support—CPR, upon hire.
Preferred
  • Experience in a hospital setting.

Pay Range

$19.48 – $28.85 per hour
