Job summary

Valleywise Health is looking for a patient transport teammate under the supervision of the Internal Transport Supervisor to move patients, equipment, laboratory specimens, deceased patients, blood, and plasma within the hospital and CHC buildings.

The role requires strong safety practices, solid communication, and the ability to stay on the move most of the day. The shift is Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm with hourly pay in a $16.22–$23.92 range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Heart Saver certification or BLS Card within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and other items within hospital and CHC buildings.

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor for Internal Transport, this position will perform work of transporting patients, equipment, laboratory specimens, deceased patients, blood, and plasma within the hospital and CHC buildings. Hourly Pay Rate: $16.22 - $23.92

*Shift will be Monday - Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm

Qualifications

Education

• A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.

Experience

Certification/Licensure

• Heart Saver certification or BLS Card issued by the American Heart Association is required and must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Requires the ability to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following established standards and procedures and complying with federal and state legal regulations and DNV requirements.
• Requires the ability and strength to move patients and equipment throughout a hospital and spend most of the day on their feet.
• Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing, including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Requires the ability to work with professionals and maintain confidentiality standards.
• Prefer knowledge of Job-Tracking, Epic, and hospital-supplied phones.
• Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
