Our Construction Management Team seeks a Transportation Technician II to perform standard inspection procedures on ongoing transportation projects, ensuring quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. This position is based in Robbinsville, North Carolina, with opportunities in multiple North Carolina locations, discussed during interviews. Not eligible for employer-sponsored visas except TN visas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction, verifying adherence to plans and specifications.
• Conduct routine material testing.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Maintain records, including material certifications, testing reports, and daily diaries.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• Successful completion and passing of JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field, with two years of technician experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Active driver's license.
• Experience analyzing highway construction plans.
• NCDOT certifications such as Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Density Testing are preferred.
• Over 4 years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects is preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field, requiring safety awareness in environments with hazards like heights, traffic, and rough terrain. Moderate physical activity is required, including walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Night and weekend work may be necessary.
