Job Goals
Oversee the transportation of students. Organize, supervise and direct pupil transportation program. Supervise operation of school buses and small vehicles owned by the district. Recruit and supervise all driver/monitor personnel.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise transportation department staff to include hiring, disciplining, terminating, directing work, assigning work, training and evaluating.
- Manage transportation operational systems to meet the requirements for instructional and extra-curricular activities.
- Promote a productive, positive and cooperative workplace environment through shared goals, mutual respect, employee recognition and equal opportunity. Work collaboratively with Director, Fleet Manager and other Transportation Supervisor
- Communicate with parents, district administration and staff as necessary regarding transportation issues.
- Ensure that the department adheres to all state laws, statutes, and district policies. Oversee appropriate training of personnel to meet mandated requirements for qualification and licensing. Maintain records and submit reports for state reimbursement funds.
- Collaboratively resolve student discipline issues involving busing with District administrators.
- Oversee preparation of bus routes and schedules to provide transportation for eligible students to all approved locations.
- Assist in needed preparation of the Transportation Department strategic plan and budget.
- Attend appropriate meetings and represent the transportation department as needed
- Compose and discuss driver/monitor and office staff evaluations.
- Evening, weekend, holiday and on-call supervisory responsibilities
- Organize and maintain transportation and operational employee files.
- Maintain, evaluate, audit and approve driver, monitor and office staff time, attendance records and payroll. Audit and compare timeclock, schedule, and GPS data
- Conduct collision investigations, assign refresher training, manage collision files.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Salary
The Transportation Supervisor salary ranges from $76,055.00 - $104,892.00
