Thorne in Summerville, SC is seeking a Director of Transportation to lead the company’s transportation network across LTL, FTL, and Parcel. The role oversees analytics, forecasting, carrier strategy, and governance to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of products.

The position requires a minimum of 10+ years in transportation/logistics and leadership experience, with strong proficiency in Excel and TMS/WMS/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years in transportation/logistics with leadership experience.
• Strong experience with transportation analytics, forecasting, and KPI reporting.
• Proficient in Excel and transportation systems (TMS/WMS/ERP).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Owns transportation strategy and performance across LTL, FTL, and Parcel for inbound, outbound, and intercompany freight.
• Directs transportation execution with disciplined escalation and service recovery.
• Leads carrier management, performance reviews, and cost optimization.
• Partners with warehousing, customer service, procurement, finance, and operations.
