Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with minimum 3 years in warehouse ops, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or move/relocation logistics.
• Must possess Forklift certification and Material Handling Equipment certification.
• Must hold Class A CDL, Class B CDL, or standard state driver’s license.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn logistics systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routing, dispatch coordination, delivery/pick-up scheduling, and tracking of shipments/moves.
• Handle loading/unloading and in-transit protection for furniture/property.
• Prepare, review and maintain transportation documentation per DIA procedures.
• Maintain accurate item counts, condition notes, and discrepancy reporting.
• Follow site access, safety, and security procedures; report incidents promptly.
• Work in warehouse/loading dock environments and assist with material handling tasks.

Overview

Job Title: Transportation Specialist Junior SCA Location: Landover, Maryland Introduction: Rivet Operations Company (“Rivet”) has multiple openings for Transportation Specialists to join our team in the Washington DC metro area, specifically, Landover, MD. This position will support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) providing enterprise logistics support. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the Department of Defense (DoD) and a leader in physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, process improvement and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to assist with routing, dispatch coordination, delivery/pick-up scheduling, and tracking of shipments / moves.
• Basic understanding of loading / unloading practices and in-transit protection for furniture / property (pads, straps, securement).
• Ability to prepare, review, and maintain required transportation documentation (delivery receipts, transfer / turn-in forms, chain-of-custody / signature logs) in accordance with DIA procedures.
• Attention to detail for item counts, condition notes, and discrepancy reporting.
• Ability to follow site access, safety, and security procedures; report incidents, damage, or noncompliance immediately to supervisors.
• Ability to work in warehouse / loading dock environments and assist with material handling tasks consistent with safety requirements.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

• Personnel performing on this effort shall be U.S. citizens.
• Personnel are required to have a current clearance and be able to maintain it as well as be able to successfully clear a background investigation.
• High school diploma / GED with minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or move/relocation logistics.
• Must possess Forklift certification.
• Must possess Material Handling Equipment certification.
• Must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or Class B (CDL), or a standard state driver’s license.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and willingness / ability to learn tasked logistics systems.

Security: Personnel are required to have an active TS/SCI clearance upon hire.

Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time as well as repeated walking. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
