Job summary

Benore Logistic Systems, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Specialist to oversee the day-to-day activities of Class A CDL drivers and company equipment.

This role ensures transportation activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with policies and regulations. You will coordinate pickups and deliveries, monitor performance, and collaborate with engineering to address capacity and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in management, business, logistics, transportation, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of related supervisory experience required.
  • Transportation or logistics industry experience preferred.

Benore Logistic Systems, Inc. is seeking a TransportationSpecialist to oversee theday-to-day activities of assigned Class A CDL drivers and companyequipment. This position is responsible for ensuringtransportation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and incompliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

The TransportationSpecialist coordinates timely pickups and deliveries, monitorsdriver and asset performance, manages attendance and equipmentassignments, maintains accurate transportation management systemrecords, and communicates effectively with drivers, customers, andinternal leadership. The role also works closely with theengineering team to address capacity needs, resolve serviceissues, and support operational efficiency.

KeyResponsibilities

Driver and AssetOperations – Oversee the dailyactivities of assigned Class A CDL drivers, including attendance,equipment assignments, route status, uniform compliance, and thecoordination of timely pickups and deliveries.

Safety andRegulatory Compliance – Monitor andenforce compliance with DOT and Federal Motor Carrier SafetyRegulations, Hours of Service requirements, OSHA standards, C-TPATbest practices, company policies, and established safetyprocedures.

Driver PerformanceManagement – Monitor driverperformance, including ELD compliance, shipment-detail compliance,speeding, route adherence, on-time pickup and delivery, and Hoursof Service compliance.

PerformanceMonitoring and KPI Management – Track establishedperformance indicators, including:

  • Loaded-milepercentage
  • On-timeservice
  • Deadhead andbobtail avoidance
  • Dwell-timereduction
  • Transportationmanagement system accuracy

Capacity andService Planning – Work closely withdrivers and the engineering department to execute networkdriver-capacity plans, address short- and long-term capacityimbalances, and support customer service commitments.

Attendance andEmployee Relations – Support driverattendance tracking and carry out coaching, corrective action, ordisciplinary processes in alignment with management direction andcompany policy.

Customer andStakeholder Communication – Provide timelyand professional communication regarding customer inquiries,service issues, and operational resolutions to customers,shippers, suppliers, drivers, and company leadership.

Documentation andRecordkeeping – Ensuredepartmental forms, reports, and supporting documentation arecompleted accurately and submitted within establisheddeadlines.

Technology andReporting – Usetransportation and operational systems such as TMW or related TMSplatforms, Samsara, PeopleNet, SpeedGauge, PC*Miler, Inventory inMotion, Time Clock Management, TracKing, SkyBitz, and SSRSreporting tools.

Cost andEnvironmental Stewardship – Manage operationswith a focus on cost efficiency, waste reduction, reduced idletime, asset utilization, fuel conservation, and minimizing carbonemissions while maintaining safety, quality, and customer-servicestandards.

Team Leadershipand Development – May superviseassigned drivers by prioritizing work, assigning responsibilities,providing coaching, evaluating performance, addressing employeeconcerns, supporting engagement, and assisting with interviewing,hiring, safety, and training activities.

Process andStandards Compliance – Maintain detailedknowledge of applicable operational processes and support companystandards associated with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001certification programs.

Requirements
Education andExperience
  • Associate’s orbachelor’s degree in management, business, logistics,transportation, or a related field required .
  • Minimum of threeyears of related supervisory experience required.
  • Transportation orlogistics industry experience preferred.
TechnicalSkills
  • Demonstratedproficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word,PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Experience withtransportation management systems such as TMW or McLeodpreferred.
  • Ability toaccurately maintain transportation records, analyze operationalinformation, and use reporting tools to supportdecision-making.
RegulatoryKnowledge
  • Knowledge of DOTregulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulationspreferred.
  • Knowledge ofC-TPAT requirements and transportation safety practicespreferred.
  • Ability to complywith company, DOT, OSHA, environmental, and safetyrequirements.

  • Ability to coachand mentor drivers while maintaining accountability andenforcing company policies.

  • Must be able tolift, push, or manage equipment and supplies weighing up to 25pounds.
