Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a Transportation Analyst to develop, analyze, revise, and update bus runs, routes, and schedules for safety and efficiency across all qualified student transportation services. Responsibilities include optimizing routing, using data analytics to improve operations, and coordinating with school sites.

Requires strong English communication and proficiency with spreadsheet/word processing.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field
• Two years of college (60 credit hours) coursework in a related field
• Five (5) years years experience in transportation routing, operational analysis, logistics planning, systems administration, or data analytics or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience utilizing spreadsheet and word processing applications
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions

SUMMARY

This position will develop, analyze, revise, and update bus runs, routes, and schedules for safety and maximum operating efficiency ensuring transportation service is safely and efficiently provided to all qualified students attending TUSD schools

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Associates Degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field
  OR
• Two years of college (60 credit hours) coursework in a related field
  OR
• Five (5) years years experience in transportation routing, operational analysis, logistics planning, systems administration, or data analytics or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience utilizing spreadsheet and word processing applications
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
• Must submit to a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol screen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a school transportation environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Tucson Metropolitan area, to include Pima County
• Two (2) years experience utilizing computerized routing software application
• Knowledge of route planning and scheduling practices and procedures

Classification:Supervisory/Professional

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day

Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
